Wild Dunes is best understood on foot. Walk it end to end and you'll see the ocean on one side, the marsh on the other, and deep water properties in between. The trees drape over the roads. The homes sit back behind them. It feels like a neighborhood, not a development.
I've sold here for 30 years, and I love it more every year. The new hotel adds to the setting instead of taking anything away.
There's a lot to do without leaving the community. Wild Dunes has two golf courses, the Links and the Harbor. It also has clay tennis courts, where an 18-year-old Andre Agassi won a tournament in 1988.
Before you fall for a lot, know these four things:
1. Tree ordinances. They affect what you can trim, remove, or build around. Ask before you plan.
2. Setbacks. They decide where a home can sit and what you can add later. Check them before you check the floor plan.
3. Community association fees. They're part of the real cost of owning here. Find out what they cover before you fall in love.
4. The beach. Renourishment is underway in 2026. A wider, stronger beach is good news for every oceanfront owner.
If you love quiet streets and mature trees, Wild Dunes may be your place. If you want a busier scene, it may not be, and that's good to know early.
Let's take a walk through it together.
Thank you,
Betty

I spend several hours each day with my team contacting area residents and generating interest in my client's properties. Putting sellers and buyers together has become a large part of my business over the years. So much so that some people have called me 'The Charleston Matchmaker!'
